Magnesium, usually manufactured from dolomite, magnesite ore and magnesium chloride, its melting point 650°C (1200°F ), the lightest structural metal with density 1.738 g/cm3, making it the lightest, also very strong, highly resistant to corrosion and easily machinable.
Most magnesium is used in aluminum alloys casting, to get desired strength, lightness and resistance. Today recycled aluminium accounts for great importance for global aluminium consumption, aluminium scraps /waste like beverage cans, car cylinder heads, window frames, aluminium profile or old electrical cabling are recycled mainly into casting alloys, during the manufacture, fabrication/ casting of aluminum alloys within the smelters/ remelter, alloying elements (silicon, Titanium boron, magnesium etc.). aluminium master alloys are required to reach the desired alloys composition and end products.
Other significant uses for pure magnsium including Mg-Al die castings, production of beer/ drink cans & aerospace alloys, deoxidizer in reduction of titanium, zirconium, and hafnium, production of nodular cast iron, also as desulfurization agent in iron and steel production, meanwhile, for manufacture of magnesium anode for cathodic protection and fireworks.
